Defense Mechanism Blog

Students need to analyse the past intervention episodes we have watched identifying the use of Freudian defense mechanisms. Students need to draw specific examples from the episodes. You do not have to use every defense mechanism we discussed.  I am looking for a page in length and well thought out examples.

Temple Grandin

After watching the movie Temple Grandin I hope that you have a better understanding of Autism and also Savant Syndrome. What I would like you to do is draw specific examples from the movie to show how Temple's autism affected her.....

5. Parents (Specifically her mom)

Traumatic Brain Injury

I need you to find an article that discusses head injuries (ie concussions) in sports. It also needs to cover some of the new rules put in place for player safety. Your best bet will be to research a collision sport (Football, Hockey, Rugby, etc). You can post more than one article. You need to link your article to your post. (Copy/Paste the url into the post so I can read it.) Summarize your article and tell me if you believe enough is being done to protect athletes from these types of injuries.

Theory of Knowledge

What theory of knowledge do you agree with? Do you think Socrates theory that all  knowledge is innate and that through reasoning we can access knowledge or John Locke's theory that the mind is a blank slate and we access knowledge through experience? Please tell me why you feel this way and use examples to support your reasoning. One of your reasons has to be supported with scripture.

This blog will be dedicated to the responses of the students in my psychology class. I hope that you use it and jump on board because it is a large part of your grade. You will have to respond weekly to a question that I post about a topic we have been discussing in class. Your response will be graded for content, correct grammar, and spelling.  I can tell when you write junk, copy and paste from the internet, or just repeat what I have already said in class.
